Don't Follow My Example.....

I just finished my last exam for my family finance class this morning!

Woohoo!

100 percent, finishing with a 94.5% for the class.

The missing 5.5% were due to 2 questions missed on one assignment, and 2 questions missed on one exam.

Oh yeah, and the fact that I only attended class less than 25% of the time.

Don't follow my example by not going to class ever, but this time it worked out for me!

I am so excited to be done with school!  Just 2 more finals on Monday, and then I am free!.....to look for work and start paying bills and worrying about things like my retirement.

Woot!

*Note, I did not skip all classes this semester, just this family finance class.  It was a watered-down version of the last 3 years of mathematics and business classes I have taken.

Happenings

This past weekend I got to go purchase my wedding dress!  Woohoo!

I finished up my actuarial mathematics class on Saturday as well.

I will be graduating in less than 2 weeks!

My parents will be here in just over a week.

I'll be flying back with my parents to the Dominican Republic in 2 weeks.

And Caleb's going to come visit as well, for a couple days!

Then, I'll be getting married in just over 2 months!

Yahoo!

This is about how excited I feel right now:

Validation

This is a really long clip (16 minutes), but it is well worth your time.  Even if you have seen it before, watch it again.

You can't not smile while watching this.  Just see if you don't feel better and more motivated about everything after viewing.

YOU are awesome.

Taking a Break

From piano lessons.

My student (mentioned a few months ago, around October) still has not practiced more than 2-3 times since I last spoke with y'all.  And when I say 2-3 times, I mean that she has literally opened the books 2 or 3 times.  Not 2 or 3 weeks in a row.  Not 23 times, just 2 or 3 individual times.

The mom has cancelled lessons 2 times in the last 4 weeks.  Which means, unfortunately, that I only get paid half.  Not sure how that policy got turned around, but it is what it is, and I don't like fighting with parents over money.

I think I'm cancelling all of May and through the rest of the summer.  It isn't worth my (or their) time anymore.

Now I just have to decide if I will ask them if they are willing to practice in August or September, and decide if I will try to take on 10-15 students or so, rather than getting a second job after the wedding in June.

Any takers?  Too bad lessons via Skype are not nearly so good. :)

Not quite fair, is it?
